The earliest garden flowers to blossom, Snowdrops or Galanthus (milk flower) are everywhere in the UK. There are snowdrop gardens throughout the nation that will delight you with tiny flowers coming out of the ground, sometimes even when there is snow around.

There are more than 2,500 varieties of this flower, and they all vary in height starting from 7  to 30 cm. Once the flower grows, it hangs off its stalk like a “drop.” Snowdrops have six white tepals. The three outer layers are long and curved while the inner tepals are small and notched.
