You can find different colours, forms, and sizes of roses. With over 300 rose species and thousands of hybrids of roses, you can find these native to Asia, North America, Europe, and northwest Africa. Now, roses are widely available worldwide due to commercial breeding. You can identify roses based on the three main categories which are Species Roses, Old Garden Roses, and Modern Roses. Before roses were famous as garden plants and cut flowers, people valued them for their scent, medicinal and therapeutic values, and as decorations.

The colours of roses are based on the species. There are shades of white, yellow, pink, orange and red roses while blue and black roses do not exist. Red roses symbolise passionate love and romance. Pink roses show gratitude, grace, admiration and joy. Yellow roses signify friendship. White roses show you are thinking of the person while orange ones are for budding relationships. Purple roses symbolise enchantment and love at first sight.
