Iris reticulata or reticulated iris grows the same time as snowdrops and crocuses. It grows in the cold and dry mountains of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Russia. Its plant is petite and grows 10 to 15 cm tall with pale blue to deep violet blooms. The centre of the flower has yellow splashes in the middle of these petals. Its petals alternate between three large spreading with three erect yet smaller petals.
